Project type: Event identity
Client: Cph Ink tattoo convention
Time: Spring 2017
Whether you fancy a cute dolphin on the ankle or a three masted schooner on your entire back the world of tattoos welcomes everyone in a community of diversity and artwork.
Back in the days tattoos were primarily associated with gritty sailors and rockers, but in today’s society tattoos are for everyone. This exact diversity is the foundation of the visual identity for the CHP Ink tattoo convention. The purpose of the convention’s identity is to show tattoo interested guest that everyone are welcome - whether you’re covered in tribal tattoos from top to toe or just have a small flower on your wrist.
The concept is first and foremost expressed in a dynamic logo, which in its various stages embraces all styles. The heart in the logo is shown in its basic form "clean", but can be changed to dot, sailor, tribal, etc. The stylized hearts can also be used as a categorization tool and on wayfinding.
The convention identity embraces both the classic sailors and the 90’s tribal lovers here symbolized in an eagle illustration combining two styles in the same motif.
The different style-hearts are used in the printed program as a categorization tool. In this case as a way of showing what type of tattoo style a specific artist offers.
The hearts have many different uses, such as personalized entrance tickets in form of fake wrist tattoos.
